Power and speed are the cornerstones of great athletes, especially for the game of basketball. This training program will focus on:

  1. Acceleration and deceleration for optimal body control. Its not always the fastest player who is the best, but the one who is in control the most.  
  2. Power production (vertical and lateral) for attacking the rim and rising above the defence. 
  3. Reactive athleticism for teaching the body to fire properly given a set of external stimuli. 

Teaching the body how to properly recruit and direct muscle power is essential to success but also injury prevention. The goal with all of our workouts is to make the athletes healthier and more resilient to the stressors of sports and competition.

HOW IT WORKS 

Frequency - Athletes can sign up to have workouts three times per week. This workout cannot be less than three times per week if the athlete wishes to see any sort of measurable improvement in performance. 

Duration - This is a 12 week program that runs from June 8th to August 28th. 

Session details - Each session will be 60 minutes in length and athletes will train in group setting. Each group will have a maximum of 8 participants. 

Schedule - We will be offering sessions everyday of the week so athletes can customize their schedule to fit in with their other responsibilities. Sessions will be offered 7 days a week.  

Monday - Friday:

  • 6 to 7PM
  • 7 to 8PM
  • 8 to 9PM

Saturday & Sunday: 

  • 9AM to 10AM
  • 10AM to 11AM
  • 3PM to 4PM
  • 4PM to 5PM

TRAINING EQUIPMENT

These workouts will use a combination of weight sleds, landmines, kettlebells, power bands, and benches. The extra workouts will be dictated by the proficiency level of the athletes in the session. 

FITNESS TESTING

In order to empirically track the progress of each athlete, we will perform a fitness test before the first session and then a fitness test at the end of the program. Results will also be tracked in real time during the sessions themselves.  

REGISTRATION INFO

  1. If there are athletes who wish to do the program but cannot commit to all 12 weeks, please email us and we can pro rate any weeks that are missed. 
  2. Once you have registered for a session, Eurostep will reach out to coordinate a schedule of your choosing. 
  3. Athletes can also make up sessions if they miss workouts due to other obligations.
